Clearly marked boundaries protect property owners from adverse possession claims and timber trespass, whether intentional or not, demonstrate use and occupancy and define the limits of ownership and management. Blazing, followed by painting, is the traditional method for marking boundaries; this method also provides the best and longest lasting evidence of a property line.
